Profile
Andi Dobrushi headed the Open Society Foundation Albania (OSFA) and was named as its executive director in 2017 and again at a meeting with then-President Ilir Meta on 20 December 2019. His Budapest Forum participant bio now gives his title as Director, OSF Western Balkans, a regional role; the bio does not give the date he moved. The same bio describes earlier work for the European Roma Rights Centre in Budapest and expert roles for the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, the Council of Europe, the EU Agency for Fundamental Rights, the Norwegian Center for Human Rights and the OSCE, without dates. Dobrushi is not to be confused with Erida Dobrushi, Albania's consul general in Thessaloniki (ambasadat.gov.al), who appears in search results under the same surname; no link between the two was found. No public office held by Andi Dobrushi was found.
Response from Andi Dobrushi
In January 2017 he told Balkanweb that OSFA's support for the justice reform was modest, agreed with Parliament, and carried out by an all-Albanian staff, and called the accusations a political tactic (Balkanweb, 25 Jan 2017; see claims). He has also been quoted as saying OSFA was the main funder of the reform process (quoted by ECLJ, undated). No response to the 2019 Presidency account was found.
