Profile
Gent Cakaj took an MA in political science at the Central European University (2015), according to Wikipedia. He served as a political adviser to the Prime Minister in 2018, then as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, and was acting Foreign Minister from 23 January 2019 until he resigned on 29 December 2020. The Wikipedia article does not mention Open Society or Soros, and no OSI or OSF fellowship, grant or employment was found for him. He is included as a CEU-alumnus control case: the CEU link alone is not an OSF link. A later report mentions him as a possible candidate for leadership of a Kosovo opposition party; not verified here.
Response from Gent Cakaj
On resigning as acting Foreign Minister he said: 'I consider that the chapter of my service as the head of Albanian diplomacy is over' (Wikipedia, citing his 29 Dec 2020 statement).
